The Chroma 2 in stainless Damascus steel. Damascus steel was used to produce high quality knives due to its legendary hardness and decorative patterns. These patterns are similar to wood grains and it is achieved by having 2 different metals joined together. Traditional Damascus steel was prone to rust so we turned to 'Damasteel' from Sweden. They are the leading suppliers of the finest stainless damascus steel which would not rust under normal use, while offering superior hardness. Each Chroma case is CNC machined from a solid rod of Damasteel. It is then hand polished to a shine and finally treated with hydrochloric acid to bring out the subtle pattern. We went for a light etch as anything deeper might affect the fitment of the various parts. Working with damasteel was extremely challenging, with a planned run of 50pieces. Only 25 pieces made it to completion and hence these are extremely limited. The Chroma was a success but we wanted to produce an even better watch than the first. ...
