Its primary mission was to conduct anti-submarine operations, with 21” torpedo tubes to aid its task. This very special edition of the Zelos Hammerhead consists of a dial that was sliced from an actual piece of nuclear submarine hull steel. This submarine served from 1976 till its decommissioning in 2011 and it was the first of its class. The hull material was obtained from a ‘plankowner’, Mr Kendal who served on the submarine and was part of the decommissioning crew. As an avid watch enthusiast and owner of a piece of the hull, he has very generously provided us with this material to commemorate an amazing vessel with much history behind it.
