At a time when white and silver dials are the norm in the watch industry, LeCoultre & Cie is one of the few Maisons to offer coloured dials, reinforcing the resolutely modern character of the Reverso. The Spécialités Horlogères catalog of the time describes the black dial, with its exceptional legibility, as the dial of the future. This circa 1937 Reverso Small Seconds features a polished steel case framing a black dial distinguished by a precise railroad minute track and elevated Arabic numerals indexes. Equipped with the Jaeger-LeCoultre manual-winding Calibre 413, the watch is fitted on a grained black calfskin leather strap.
